Dear Parent/Guardians and Students:
The 2014-2015 school year is passing quickly. We want to thank those who recently supported our family night at the library. We had a great evening and enjoyed seeing you come with your families. The reason for selecting that location was to remind all of us of the incredible facility we have in our neighborhood. The library is a great place for students to spend some time in the summer. Daily reading throughout the school year and the summer makes a huge difference for students.
I want to spend a moment and discuss the critical work that our teachers are involved in on a weekly basis while your children participate in computers, PE and library. This time is set aside for teachers to meet as a team to identify the essential teaching standards that all students in their grade (and cross grade levels) need to know. In addition, they discuss effective strategies for teaching these standards, how they will know if students have learned what they have taught and finally what will they do if students have or haven't learned it. This is an ongoing process.
One thing that is crystal clear of research on effective teaching is that a productive way to meet the needs of all students
